Inspired by other very eye-catching, updated blogs-- we are trying out a new look!

Washington!

We spent the last week of our summer out in Washington visiting college friends. Our trip was very fun and we kept very busy. Kayaking at Puget Sound, seeing a Mariner's game at the outdoor Safeco Stadium, taking a short hike at Tumwater falls, geocaching on Bambridge Island, visiting the famous Fish Market and walking through the Sculpture park were just a few things we did in Washington. We also grilled out, played games like monopoly, sequence and spoons. All in all, a fun time for everyone.

Shay practiced her muscial talents (which she did not get from either of her parents), while and Grandma's and Grandpa's.

When Mom and Dad are away...I play!

Shay spent most of the week at Grandma and Grandpa Sturm's house, while we were in Washington. She loved playing and visiting with everyone-- especially her cousin Taylor.

Parke Family Visit

My aunt June and cousin Aila came to MN for a short visit- and were able to make it down to Rochester to meet Shay and Bailey! We had a good time visiting, eating, walking and watching Shay. My parents also brought down a new toy for Shay-- an exersaucer. So far, her favorite thing to do with it is to bite it. Go figure. My aunt June is in the main picture.

Cousin Olive

Shay and Olive have had the opportunity to hang out together at Grandma Jean's house on several occasions. Olive is waiting for Shay to be a little bit more fun to play with :) Here's a couple of pics of them on Grandma's comfy chair.

Spending time at the Pengelly Cabin

A few college friends joined up at the Pengelly's cabin-- a very fun weekend which included playing with babies, kayaking, card games, grilling out, trying to sail, boating, waterskiing and much more.

A little late... Augsburg Graduation

I walked at Augsburg's graduation last month and both of our families got to sit in the small auditorium for just shy of two hours. I think Shay lasted about 15 minutes or so :) Anyway, we had a good brunch afterwards and I was glad to receive my master's degree (in education).

Breck and Shay

We spent a wonderful weekend at the lake with our friends the Burns' family. Tons of skiing, boating, grilling and a couple of campfires. Breck and Shay (who are just 12 hours apart in age-- both born March 15th) enjoyed each others company and they both like their new bumbo chairs as seen in this pic. More pics to follow...
