Having Fun, Relaxing, Learning, and BeingTired...

Fun: it has been so neat to see Shay interact with Alyssa.  She loves to help burp, change, or even pump milk!
Relaxing: with nursing, I find myself with my feet up and on the couch every couple of hours... plus when we find time to relax as a family we really take advantage of it
Learning: we all have been learning.  Shay has been learning how to be a great big sister and how to share mom and dad's attention.  Brett and I have been learning to enjoy both our daughters and how to get the daily tasks completed.  Bailey is learning to get sleep when she can, since her nights are again interrupted by a new little one.
Tired:  this is pretty self explanatory.  We are all tired, but loving our new change!

Just Hanging Out

Alyssa and Rachel have been having a good time just hanging out this past week.  With Brett back at school and track, and Shay at Tracie's for some of the day-- we have been able to visit with Grandma Stacy, take some naps and try to do some organizing.  We got the maternity and winter clothes packed away, as well as clothes a bit too small for Shay.  Alyssa is nursing well and sleeping pretty good too.  The only hiccup so far has been that she is not a birth weight, so we have weekly visits at the doctor to check her weight.  She has been gaining each time, just not as much as they want her too!  Below are just a couple of pictures of our sweet new babe--

Julie Visits

Aunt Julie visiting from Seattle
One of many get-togethers at Amma's house
 Our family, Alyssa- 1 week!
 Sweet Baby Girl!
Shay and Brett enjoying lunch at the Zoo
Brett, Shay and Julie went to the MN with Shay's Daycare.  They saw "lots" of animals including two of Shay's favorites- bears and geese.  They were able to walk around on a beautiful day, eat lunch together and just have fun before dropping Julie off for her flight back to Washington.

All My Grandparents

Alyssa and Shay are lucky to have all their grandparents close.  Papa Mark and Grandma Stacy are pictured at the top.  Grandma Stacy is coming to live with us for a couple of weeks to help-- yeah!  Amma (Jean) now just lives down the street from us, and will be watching the girls every Wednesday night this summer so mom and dad can play some volleyball and go out with friends.  Grandma Ginger and Papa Bill are the bottom picture, and Shay is very excited to go on many boat rides this summer at their house!

Visitors!

Alyssa had plenty of visitors both at the hospital and then at home. She got to meet all her grandparents, cousins, as well as all her aunts and uncles--- aunt Julie even came in from Seattle!  Since we have been home, Alyssa has been eating and sleeping like a champ!  Shay has enjoyed being a big sister and has read Alyssa books, helped burp her and has also given plenty of kisses!
