Who is who? Our daughters at 5 months---

5 Months

Alyssa hit the 5 month mark this week!  Just like Shay, she loves to smile and interact.  If you pretty much look in her direction, Alyssa will smile- which is such a treat.  Also like her sister, we are not leaps and bounds ahead in gross motor skills, but we know those will come.  Her newest activites include: talking a lot, grabbing anything in reach and trying to put it in her mouth, laughing, rolling over (from stomach to back), trying to rollover from back to stomach (gets about half way), and playing with her sister.  Shay is able to make Alyssa laugh the most, and sometimes we catch Alyssa just watching Shay intently.  It has been neat as parents to see them interact and this is just the beginning! 

We have also recently made the move from the bassinet in our room to the crib.  Brett caught me at a weak moment (late at night when I had already been asleep) and said he had put Alyssa in the crib instead of the bassinet.  So our babe now is sleeping in her own room (okay, for the past 2 nights she has).  Not sure what I think about that, but it had to happend sometime.  All in all, Alyssa is doing well and in our biased opinion, getting cuter everday!

BandAids

Well, we have had a few minor injuries in our house this past week.  Rachel cut her thumb on the newly sharpened knives before she was even able to use one, while Shay's "lips" hurt.  The thumb is still wrapped up and healing, we are trying not to go in for stitches.  Shay's lips are better too- they were hurting for about 3 minutes, but the bandaid helped.

The girls and I headed over to visit Catharine, Annika and Patrick while our husbands were out.  Catharine made another nice dinner for us (I am liking having friends off on maternity leave :) and we had all had fun playing together.  Patrick wanted to head down to the studio to take pictures, so off we went.  Below are some pretty darn cute ones of the babes, and then one of Patrick in action!  Thanks Catharine for another fun night (and for coping the pictures)!

Fall is Here!

Shay, Alyssa and Rachel had a good time with the Bliss and Winfrey families while Brett was at a school meeting.  It is common for us to have a playdate at the park and this night was no exception.  Hopefully it will stay warm enough to have at least one more group night at the park!

Time sure does fly by!  2 kiddos have come since then and our families have gotten a little bit busier, but still having fun!

We will Miss This...

Brett has been able to stay home with the girls for the last 3 weeks, and really enjoyed his time.  We were both a little surprised how fast it went by, with our new schedules beginning this week.  Shay and Alyssa went back to Tracie's house, while Brett headed back to school.
